TRIAL TOUR: 22 OCT 2019 Farmer’s organic kitchen on the Yamanobe ancient trail - taste stories behind the plates -



Yamanobe no michi is the oldest path running north and south along the eastern edge of the Nara Basin. We will visit an organic farmer, Kaori at Himiko’s Garden along the trail. She will guide you to her organic rice farm where various heirloom rice seeds are preserved, and we will cook together by using locally harvested farm products. We will also visit a small-scale soy sauce maker. Tour ends in Miwa with an optional activity of sake tasting.

Schedule

  9:30 Meet at kintetsu “Daifuku” Station 
  9:45-10:30 Visit a small-scale soy sauce factory
11:30-12:00 Visit an organic farm 
12:00-13:00 Cooking class at “Himiko’s Garden”
13:00-14:00 Lunch time
14:30-16:00 Sake tasting and Miwa shrine (optional)


Participation Fee


This is a trial tour, and only transportation fee is needed. 
Train from Daifuku to Makimuku, from Makimuku to Miwa: 550JPY
Optional: sake tasting 500JPY
